It was a beautiful autumn day right up to the moment I unpacked my painting kit by the lake at Branston Water Park here in East Staffordshire. Then the drizzle arrived blurring the view and subduing the colours. I worked quickly to capture an impression of this misty scene then finished the painting back in the studio. I do actually love the atmosphere in this landscape, I just wish I had taken my umbrella!
